  • learn the fundamental principles of corpus linguistics and how to produce a quantitative and qualitative analysis of a corpus;
  • acquire in-depth knowledge of the historical-political and sociocultural events that have conditioned the emergence of Spanish, its diffusion, and development;
  • acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in phonetics and the historical morphology of Spanish as well as acquire an ability to think critically about linguistic variation and how language functions and evolves;
  • learn to read and understand a medieval literary text in ancient or middle Spanish and to translate it into modern Spanish as well as identify its poetic and aesthetic characteristics;
  • acquire knowledge in comparative linguistics applied to Romance languages and be able to put the place and evolution of French and Spanish or Italian in Romania in perspective;
  • work with documents and reproduce the information in another language in written media, such as articles and books;
  • explaining and dictating concepts;
